Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Mohammad Asaduzzaman Miah visited the puja mandap (Worship pandal) at Bashundhara Residential Area in the capital on Friday night.
Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime unit chief Manirul Islam, Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir, Bangladesh Pratidin Editor Naem Nizam, Kaler Kantho Editor Imdadul Haq Milon, Executive Editor Mostofa Kamal, among others, were present on the occasion.
Addressing at the event, Asaduzzaman Miah said militants are like Asur (Evil) for the country where law enforcement agencies has continued their effort to keep communal harmony in the society.
An adequate number of law enforcers have been deployed in and around the puja mandap to ensure security. Apart from offering prayers, Hindu devotees and visitors are enjoying cultural events. Books on Hindu religion are being sold at various stalls.Friday was the Mahanabami and the five-day rituals will ended today (Saturday) by sacrificing goddess.
