Zakaria Zaman said Bashundhara Group has been providing free sewing training to underprivileged women to empower the community.
“The women receive sewing machines as a gift from Bashundhara Group. Kamarjani women each received a sewing machine after successfully completing the four-month training. Now, they can help their families in the fight for life,” he said.
Lauding this initiative of Bashundhara Group and Shuvosangho, additional district commissioner AKM Hedayetul Islam said, “Gaibandha is one of the poverty-stricken areas of the country. Here, women and children are particularly affected by various natural disasters, including river erosion. When a woman is self-reliant, the children of that family can shine in the light of good education. They can dream of a beautiful life. Sewing training can be a beacon on the path of self-reliance for distressed women.”'
Jamaat district unit ameer Mohammad A Karim appreciated the initiative of Bashundhara Group to empower communities across the country.
"Bashundhara Shuvosangho's activities are playing a positive role in building a new and enlightened Bangladesh," he said.
District BNP secretary general Mahmudunnabi Titul said that Bashundhara Group's activity will connect a backward district like Gaibandha with the development trend.
“It is a matter of joy to be involved in good and noble work. These activities will certainly inspire the wealthy of the society to work for the welfare of the people,” he said.
