Bashundhara Shuvosangho Gave Sewing Machines to Poor Women from Across the Country

Bashundhara Shuvosangho has distributed sewing machines to twenty underprivileged women in Bogura’s Sariakandi as part of an initiative to empower the local community.
On behalf of Bashundhara Group, the social volunteer platform handed over the machines to the women at the Upazila Public Library premises on Saturday.
Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan launched the free sewing training program for widows, abandoned women, and destitute individuals across the country. Upon completing the training, the women who participated were gifted sewing machines by Bashundhara Group.

Bashundhara Shuvosangho Director Zakaria Zaman delivered the welcome address, while Bangladesh Pratidin senior reporter Abdur Rahman Tulu moderated the event.

Zakaria Zaman emphasised that these initiatives aim to empower rural women and help them support their families. "Bashundhara Shuvosangho’s free sewing training and the distribution of sewing machines will improve the lives of disadvantaged women," he said.
The event was also attended by several prominent figures, including Jamaat working committee member Mohammad Shahabuddin, Bogura Press Club convenor Wasiqur Rahman, Shuvosangho Sariakandi unit president Sujit Sagar, Journalist Union president Ganesh Das, BNP municipality unit president Shahadat Hossain Soni, Upazila unit joint general secretary Sirajul Islam, Jatiya Party Upazila unit president Mokhsedul Alam, and Aminul Islam Hiru from the Communist Party.
The guests expressed their appreciation for the initiative, noting that it would help the women fulfil their dreams. They also acknowledged that while many organisations exist in the country, Bashundhara Group has stood out for its support to the people.
